Hey everyone! I’m Mr. Ray, and I’ll be your 7th and 8th grade Math and Science teacher this school year. I’ve been teaching for more than 10 years—first in the Philippines, and now here in Montana. Teaching is more than just my job—it’s something I truly enjoy, because I get to help students like you learn, grow, and see how cool math and science can really be.
We’ll use CHAMPS rules to keep things structured and organized, but at the same time, we’ll explore new ideas, ask questions, and find creative ways to solve problems. I’ll push you to think beyond the page, not just to get the right answers, but to understand why those answers matter.
I grew up in the Philippines, in a small coastal town called Siaton. One of my favorite memories there is sitting by the sea with a cup of coffee—it’s still one of the things I love most. In fact, coffee is a big part of my day, so don’t be surprised if you often see me with a cup in hand!
When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me cooking (I love trying out new recipes and flavors), reading a good book, or listening to music. I also enjoy watching movies and relaxing whenever I can.
In my years as a teacher, I’ve learned that every student has strengths—even if you don’t always see them right away. My goal is to help you discover your strengths, challenge yourself, and realize that learning is not just about grades—it’s about building confidence and preparing for the future.
So, whether we’re solving equations, running experiments, or just sharing ideas in class, remember: you belong here, your voice matters, and we’re going to have an exciting year of learning together.
